The room was very clean, cheerful, and whimsical. 5 of us enjoyed ourselves very much.

This condo is especially nice on a gray day with all the
brightly painted walls. Great to set by the fire and watch

"Awesome condo, but terrible booking experience"
Reviewed by HTC Runner in September 2011
We stayed at the Sand and Sea for two nights after the 2011 Hood to Coast Relay. My husband and I were thrilled to find an available condo for after the race (about 2 months in advance). We booked two condos originally and paid half at the time of booking. We were told that there was a 7 day cancellation policy.
When we called 3 weeks before the race to reduce one of the condos to 1 night we were told there was a 3 night minimum and our final payment was due immediately. No mention of a minimum rental or the early final payment when we originally booked (apparently since it was a "special event" payment was due early). We ended up cancelling the second unit.
Later we received an email hinting at the fact that the Sand and Sea was undergoing renovations. Again, no mention of that when we booked. When we called to confirm our condo would be ready, we were told we had been moved into a condo on a higher floor that slept two less people.
In the end the condo ended up being fine (rollaways were brought in) and it was a great location for the Hood to Coast (literally right above the finish line). The interior was decorated nicely and the floor to ceiling windows framed the view of the ocean perfectly.
Overall, the condo was great, but the booking process and communication prior to our arrival was less than impressive. Definitely had to do a lot of work on our end to make sure everything was in order.

Manager Response:
Sorry about the confusion during the reservation process.
We have always had a three night minimum for Hood to Coast.
To eliminate any future confusion for our guests we have now added a special confirmation letter for Hood to Coast stating our policies.

"Sunset at the beach"
Reviewed by Susan in August 2010
I wanted the perfect setting for my 86 year old mother to enjoy the beach and Pacific Ocean. She has traveled to the Oregon Coast all of her life and finds peace at the beach. She is now on oxygen and in a wheelchair. She loved the condo and was able to sit in the sunshine and watch all of the activities on the beach. The condo was comfortable, roomy, and felt like home. It met all of our access needs and provided a lovely place for my mother to enjoy the beach one more time. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive to our special needs.

We have stayed at Sea and Sand for the last 3 years. This last visit was the best because the unit we rented was clean, bright, cheerful and well maintained.
Hopefully ,if we return next year we can rent the same one.
Only problem is the same one we encountered before: the front door is very tough to open and shut. New doors are needed on all of the units.
Thanks

"408 fun and lovely condo"

but the kitchen was lacking "usual" kitchen supplies such as ladle for clam chowder, the pots were reaching the "ugly" stage but the glassware was very nice. Really liked the remodel of the closet in the master bedroom and both the bathrooms...we have been to Sand and Sea for years and just about gave it up until some of the owners started to fix the place up worthy of vacation/holiday prices.
We adored the kitchen cupboards and the sofas were clean and comfortable.

Reviewed by The Mac Family in April 2009
We have stayed at Sand and Sea many times. What we like about it is that it is like staying at a friends home. The condo's are roomy, clean, and well stocked. The front desk staff is amazing. Since the building is older construction and built well, the noise from your 'neighbors' is almost non-existent:) Plus they have a great security system in place after 10:00 PM.
In July we are having company from the mid-west. The first thing we did was book a few nights at Sand and Sea. It is right on the prom, just a few blocks south of the 'turnaround'. We consider the South prom to be the quiet end. It's within easy walking distance of many restaurants and great shopping. Plus, the beach in Seaside is so kid friendly. Lot's of sand before you reach the surf.
Each time we have stayed we get the same thing just a different 'mood' created by each individual condo owner. Two bedroom, two bath, full kitchen, full dining area, living room with comfy couches. Not to mention the amazing ocean front view. I think we figured it was over 25 feet of floor to ceiling ocean front glass. Much nicer that the teeny 5 foot window a person normally gets in an ocean front hotel.
We are picky tourists. Usually staying at higher end facilities. Hyatt, Marriott, etc. For some reason the down home feel of this place really draws us in over and over and over:)
Go,enjoy!
